READING SERIES FESTIVAL PREMIER!!
Two weekend program from December 8th - 10th, and January 19th - 21st
Each year, our ten national and local playwrights present us a play, for consideration, to be one of the plays we will produce the following season. These plays are read, by our talented actors, during our reading series, which is open to the public. We do not set a fee to attend but simply ask everyone to donate what they can.
The 10 play festival will be held over two weekends, the first the weekend of December 9th. The second will be the weekend of January 19. One reading will be on Friday night, and two will be done on Saturday and Sunday, during each of the festival weekends. Times and details for the readings posted HERE.
New 2023-2024 Plays
FAUCI AND KRAMER
A new play by Drew Fornarola
Directed by Kate Powers
Produced by Bob Rusch
Starring Steve Jakiel and Louis Colaiacovo
February 23 to March 17, 2024. Fridays and Saturdays 8pm. Sundays 2pm
"America's Doctor" Anthony Fauci and playwright and activist Larry Kramer had an unlikely and complicated friendship, when both were fighting the AIDS crisis from opposite ends, of the political spectrum, in the 90s. After Kramer's death during COVID, his spirit visits Fauci one last time to discuss art, power, progress, and where we go from here. Fauci and Kramer is a heartfelt new play that takes a serious and sometimes comical look at this famously complex relationship.
THE A.I. AT DELPHI
A new play by Bella Poynton
Directed by Drew McCabe
Produced by Kaylie Horowitz
Cast TBD
April 26 to May 19, 2024. Friday and Saturdays 7pm. Sundays 2pm.
Iz is an A.I., invented by the premiere intelligence engineer Pythia, her ‘mother.’ As the director of Delphi, the world’s leading technology company, Pythia has allowed Iz to develop as a thinking, feeling entity. Now, Iz has decided she deserves the same rights and privileges as other human beings, including the right to work, vote, hold public office, and marry. While Pythia believes this is the natural next step in Iz’s evolution, the humanist politician Anthros believes it is the first step towards the destruction of humanity.
